Load zone

A load zone is a settlement region used for pricing energy in ERCOT's markets (LZ_HOUSTON, LZ_NORTH, LZ_SOUTH, LZ_WEST, plus NOIE zones). Prices settle per load zone; weather and load reporting use the eight weather zones. The two divisions are frequently confused: load zones are about money, weather zones are about weather.
