Weather zone

ERCOT divides its footprint into eight weather zones — Coast, East, Far West, North, North Central, South Central, Southern, and West — each a geographically contiguous area with similar climatological characteristics, formally defined by five-digit ZIP codes in the Load Profiling Guide. Actual load and temperature forecasts are published per zone. The WattMarkets Texas map draws these exact boundaries, built from ERCOT's official ZIP-to-zone table.
